Gary L. Enberg 71, of Copley, OH passed away on June 21, 2018 in Copley. He was born on August 23, 1946 to Mildred Marie Fryer Enberg in Steubenville, OH. He graduated from Eastlake North High School in 1965, and went on to earn an accounting degree at Lakeland Community College after serving for four years in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Gary married Elizabeth (Betsey) Weck in June of 1973 and they were married for 45 years prior to his death. Gary is survived by his wife and three sons: Dennis of Midland, TX, Jonathan (Tina) of Copley, OH, and Jason. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren Sophia and Nikolas, his brother-in-law Terry (Ruth) Weck and several nieces, a nephew and their families. Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents Leonard and Daisy Jewell Fryer, his mother Mildred, and his sister Herwana Cara Boley, several uncles and aunts, as well as his brother-in-law and dear friend Howard E. Weck. Gary was a Certified Quality Engineer through the American Society for Quality and worked for 10 years as the Quality Manager at Royal Plastics in Mentor, OH. He then changed careers to the insurance and financial planning field, in which he carried multiple certifications. He worked for Prudential Insurance, Computer Sciences Corporation in Greenville SC, and retired as the Manager of New Business at Affiliated Mortgage Insurance in New Jersey. Gary had a very dry sense of humor and enjoyed a wide range of interests. He was a talented woodworker, loved remodeling homes, taking care of his large yard, and enjoyed visits with family and friends. He loved to read, study the Bible, and was very fond of British detective shows. He was most passionate about his children and grandchildren and his faith in Jesus. Because of his faith in Jesus, over the years Gary was a Sunday School teacher for a men's class and a fifth grade class, a Bible study leader, an elder, and active in prayer groups in the churches he belonged to. The calling hours and funeral service will be held at Grace Church, 754 Ghent Road, Fairlawn, OH 44333. The calling hours will be from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, June 29th and starting at 10 am on Saturday the 30th, with the service following at 11:30 am. Burial to be in Copley Cemetery.
