Frank Pontello

Frank Alfred Pontello 78 joined the Lord on July 16 2011. He was born to Alfred and Ann Pontello on September 4 1932 in Sharpsburg PA. Frank was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where he also received his Master of Public Health in Hosptital Administration. He later served in the administration at Western Reserve Psychiatric Institute Clinic and as Assistant Professor of Health Care Administration at the University of Pittsburgh. He came to live in Akron and served as the founding director of Portage Path Mental Health Center. He served as President at Portage Path until his retirement. A devoted and loyal father he leaves five children: Anne Mooney Alfred Pontello Francesca (Scott) Thornton Elisa (Jeff) Fortney Lia (Tom) Fleming; ten beloved grandchildren; sisters Rosann Lamanna and Letitia Galletta; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday July 23 10:00 AM at St. Hilary Catholic Church 2750 W. Market St Fairlawn. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E.
