Francis DDS

Dr. Frank Mellion DDS MS 44 of Jackson Township died unexpectedly November 16 2003. He was born in Akron November 24 1958. Frank graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry and the Orthodontic Department at St. Louis University. He was in orthodontic practice with his two brothers for 18 years. Frank was a member of the Akron Dental Society the Ohio Dental Association the American Dental Association the American Association of Orthodontists a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics a board member of the Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation former President of the Akron Chapter of the American Cancer Society past board member of the Jackson Baseball Association and many other civic organizations. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. He was an avid photographer fly fisherman and pianist. His most cherished moments were the one's he spent with his family. Frank was preceded in death by his father Louis. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 22 years Laurie and their children Mark Kate and Ryan; his mother Helen sisters Irene Aldrich (James) of Chicago Illinois; Marianne McDowell (Robert) of Akron; Lois Unk (Daniel) of Cuyahoga Falls; Betty Minich (Lawrence) of Tucson Arizona; brothers Dr. Joseph Mellion (Dianne) of Bath; Dr. Nicholas Mellion (Jeanette) of Jackson Township; many nieces nephews and cousins. He was a devoted husband encouraging father and honest friend. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
