Frances Ann Siegferth, age 88, passed away on March 17, 2017. She was born on August 15, 1928 in Akron to the late James Patrick and Margaret (Pendleton) Gill. Frances was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and attended Kent State University. She was a Rotary Camp Counselor, where she met her husband, Joe, and was Portage Path Elementary PTA President. Her biggest love was her family and she was a tireless caregiver to all. Frankie married Joseph P. Siegferth, Sr. on September 1, 1951 and lived a full, loving life together until his death on January 17, 2004. She enjoyed her role as Mrs. Coach for the countless hours she put in washing uniforms, baking cookies, cooking spaghetti dinners and being the biggest fan for Joe's Central and Central-Hower basketball teams. Preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sisters, Mary (William) Strabic and Patricia (John) McKinstry; mother and father-in-law Andrew and Sarah Siegferth; brothers-in-law, Donald Howard, George, Frank, and Andrew (Rosemary) Siegferth; and sisters-in-law, Ruth and Hazel Siegferth. She is survived by her son, Joseph Jr.; precious grandchildren, Jennifer (Shawn) Verde and Joseph III; her babies, great grandchildren, Delaney and Jackson Verde; sister, Barbara Howard; daughter-in-law, Jeananne; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. A special thanks to her niece, Peggy McKinstry Campbell, for all of her love and support. Frances' family will be forever grateful to her. The family would also like to thank the staffs of Hospice Care Center and Brookdale Senior Living for their care. Calling hours will be 5-8 pm Tuesday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St. Akron, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 am Wednesday at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 476 Mull Ave. Akron, Ohio.
