Forest Singleton

Forest Lee Singleton 88 a long time resident of Copley passed away Wednesday January 22 2014. He was born in Braxton County West Virginia in 1925 to Grace McLaughlin and Gayle Singleton. Red was a veteran of the Navy serving during WWII in the Atlantic Theater. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace with 34 years service. Red was a gentle and kind man and loved by all that knew him. His great smile and blue eyes will not be forgotten. Red is survived by his wife Ruth Singleton; daughter Tamila (Christopher) Singleton; step children Ruth Metker Judy Parks Dale Zenner; eight grandchildren five great grandchildren numerous cousins including Jack McLaughin who was like a brother to him. Special thanks to his granddaughter Candi who cared for Red in his final year. ''When you are lonely and sick of heart Go to the friends we know. And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me but let me go.'' There will be no services at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
