Evelyn Reidy

Evelyn Marie Reidy 92 passed away September 25 2011. Born on November 4 1918 in Akron she attended Sacred Heart Academy and St. Mary High School and graduated from the University of Akron. On June 2 1943 she married her college sweetheart Robert J. Reidy and dedicated her life to marriage motherhood two different careers and service to others. Those who knew her knew of her many achievements and her awards are too numerous to mention. She never sought recognition but quietly went about the business of helping others until the last week of her earthly life. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Emma Baughman; her husband Bob; and sisters Katherine Baughman and Rita Thomann. She is survived by her son the Rev. Rob Reidy of Cleveland; daughters Mary Helen (Tom) Gannon and Judy (Joe) Barmess; grandchildren Mark (Tia) Gannon Pat (Sara) Gannon Lynn (Sam) Falletta Steve (Heather) Hudak Ben (Julie) Hudak Bethany Hudak Emily Hudak Lauren (Randy) Chapman and Joe (Nora) Barmess; and eight great-grandchildren who brought her great joy in her final years. We will celebrate Evelyn's life at a Mass of Resurrection at 12 Noon on Wednesday September 28 2011 at St. Hilary Catholic Church 2750 W. Market St Fairlawn 44333. Friends may greet her family for one hour prior to Mass in the gathering area of St. Hilary Church.
