Evan H. Lewis Evan H. Lewis 90 died peacefully at home on December 7. He was the beloved husband of Irene and father of Ronald Clifford Elaine and Norman. Born in Cleveland Ohio Evan studied engineering graduating from Case Western Reserve University. He moved to Akron in 1939 where he worked for B.F. Goodrich and Firestone as a design engineer. Evan and Irene married in 1941. He was devoted to her their family and community until his death. He served as a Boy Scout leader Red Cross volunteer and active member of Fairlawn-West Church. His many interests included chess tennis bridge hunting woodworking and square dancing. He is survived by Irene his wife of 62 years and children Ronald (Nicolai) of Edina MN; Clifford (Anette) of Wayland MA; Elaine (Robert Jackson) of Medina OH; and Norman of Cincinnati OH; grandchildren Justin and Geoffrey White and Emily Lewis and nephew Richard. He is mourned by Elaine and Robert Jacksons children and grandchildren Michael (Patricia) Michele Sampson (Daniel) Nathan and Matthew and many friends. Calling hours are Saturday December 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Fairlawn-West United Church of Christ 2095 West Market Akron OH with a memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. Pastor David Loar officiating.
