Ethell Schonauer

Ethell F. Schonauer age 87 of Akron formerly of Cuyahoga Falls died at Wyant Woods Care Center Friday February 6 2004. She was born in Akron on February 2 1917 Groundhog's Day and worked for many years at B.F. Goodrich Company and later as Assistant Head Dietician at Children's Hospital of Akron. However her most important and rewarding jobs were as caregiver caring for her blind mother for most of her life and then for her husband during his long battle with cancer. Preceded in death by parents Frederick and Catherine Plappert; sisters Elsie Mallison and Elynor Mason; brother Russell Plappert; and husband Robert Schonauer Ethell will lovingly be remembered by her niece La Vonne Kottka and her husband Lee; great-niece Holly Ann Holland; and friend Michael L. McGowan all of Akron. Special thanks to the staff at Wyant Woods Care Center for their many years of care and to the chaplain and staff of Heartland Hospice. Services will be held Tuesday February 10 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron. Interment in Mt. Peace Cemetery Rev. Dennis Woodruff officiating.
