Erna Noel

Erna S. Noel, 95, cherished wife, mother, and friend died October 21, 2018. Erna was born in Olafsvik, Iceland on October 1, 1923. She met her husband to be, Lt Col. Dana Noel, in Reykjavik where he was stationed during WWII. They were married for 60 wonderful years. Erna will be remembered most as a devoted wife and mother with unconditional love and support for her family and friends. She adored her church and was always dedicated to exploring the inner values and spiritual possibilities of life. She was a creative soul, expressing that throughout her life with numerous ongoing projects and pieces of textile art. Erna was preceded in death by her loving husband. She is survived by her son, Dana G. Noel (Patty) of Akron, daughter, Diane Perella, (Marco) of Austin, TX; her brother, Hilmar Palsson, of Reykjavik, Iceland, nephews, Hannes, Paul, and Bjossi Hilmarson and their families,of Reykjavik Iceland; her grandchildren, Noel, Morgan, Laura, Dana Eric, and Annie; her great grandchildren, Jeffrey and Maggie. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Thank you,to Harbor Light Hospice and The Merriman for their kind and loving care. The family will receive friends and a memorial service will take place Saturday, November 10, 2018, 11 AM, at First Congregational Church, 292 E. Market St., Akron. There will be a private interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Congregational Church.
