Emma Bujorian

March 29, 1921 — November 10, 2014

Emma Jane Bujorian, 93, was born March 29, 1921 in Lutie/Wilburton, Oklahoma, to the late Carlo and Caterina Philippi, and passed away November 10, 2014 in Thornton, Colorado at the Villas at Sunny Acres Memory Care Unit. She treasured her last five years in Colorado close to her children and grandchildren. Emma Jane graduated from Kenmore High School and was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber company in various positions for over 40 years. She was a founding member of St. Hilary Parish (co-coaching its first girls' track and field team with husband, Harold) and the Fort Island Swim Club, volunteered with the Friends of Akron Children's Hospital 'Pinkie the Puppet' welcome for admitted patients, and was an active member and officer in the Goodyear Wingfoot Girls' Club. Over the years, she enjoyed travelling with family, gardening, canning and baking, caring for family in Colorado, listening to summer concerts, caring for feral and domestic pets, and cheering on her children and husband in sports. Some of her favorite memories were those with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 55 years, Harold; brother, Lee Filippi, sisters Edith Gist, Rita Anspaugh, numerous sister and brother-in-laws; son-in-law Stephen L. Drozda. Emma Jane is survived by sister, Nellie Pianalto; daughter, Cathy Drozda; son, Philip; grandchildren, Keeley, Stephen Ryan, and Shelly Drozda and Zachary Bujorian; sister-in-laws Yolanda Bujorian and Millie Rood; numerous nieces, godchildren, and nephews whom she loved dearly. The family wishes to acknowledge nieces, Jeane Riley and Joan Olson, who lovingly looked after her and husband, Harold, in their later years in Ohio before moving to Colorado, November 2009. Gratitude also to the exceptional, compassionate staff at Sunny Acres, who cared for her like family, in memory care, for over two years. Her bright-eyed smile, cheerfulness, quips and wit kept us all laughing until just days before her passing. Memorial services November 15th in Colorado for family at Horan and McConaty Denver/Aurora, 12:30 pm. Calling hours Monday, November 17, 2014, 4-7 pm, at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd, Copley, Ohio. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 9:30 am at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St, Fairlawn, Oh 44333. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery to follow.
