Emelie Broussard Rice age 61 of Copley went home to rest in the Lord's hands in peace on Saturday January 9 2010. Emelie was born on December 12 1948 in Lafayette Parrish LA. She graduated from University of Southwestern Louisiana and the University of Texas Medical Branch-Galveston (School of Physical Therapy). She served as a Eucharistic Minister at Christ the King Catholic Church a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader both in Gretna LA and a PSR teacher at Guardian Angles Catholic Church of Copley. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Dewey Broussard and the former Lota Prejean and Joseph Boudreaux and the former Emelie Broussard parents Curtis Broussard and the former Rita Boudreaux. She is survived by Timothy and their children Renee Alexis (Nicholas) Olechnowicz Camille Boudreaux (Shannon) Glidden; grandchildren Caleb Edward and Rowan Elizabeth Olechnowicz and Kenna Riley Glidden. She also is survived by aunts Heloise Boudreaux Arceneaux and Rosemae Guidroz Boudreaux; brothers Joseph Dewey Broussard and his wife Elizabeth Ann Babineaux of Scott LA John Anthony Broussard and his wife Rose Blackmon of Denver Dr. Curtis Andrew Broussard and his wife Adele Fusillier of Gulfport and Michael Ernest Broussard and his wife Virginia Eileen Hurd of Shreveport; 18 nieces and nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews; and 6 god children. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on February 5 2010 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Scott LA. Inurnment will take place at the Church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in the memory of two of Emelie's most loved relatives who died due to complications of hemophilia to the Louisiana Hemophilia Society 3636 S.
