Elvio Savio

Al Del Savio, 90, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017. Al was born March 23, 1926 in Bedford, Ohio. He graduated from Hower Vocational School in 1944. Al served in the U.S. Navy as an airplane mechanic. He retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. with 42 years service. Al was an avid bowler and golfer, playing at Firestone and Medina Country Clubs. He was a member and VP of Old Time Athletes Association and a very proud member of the Akron General Wellness Center. Al was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lucille (2007). He is survived by sons Alan (Paula), Ronald (Gretchen); grandchildren Chris (Kim), Jason (Jodi), Natalie (Tom) Keblesh, Casey (Amy); seven great grandchildren and sister Madeline (Jim) Horvath. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 16, 1:00 pm at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St, Akron. Private interment at Northlawn Memorial Park.
