Elsie Devere

Elsie Van Devere 93 went home to be with her Lord on December 15 2003. She was born in Mishawaka IN. Elsie married Rudy in 1928 and moved to Akron in 1936 where they established Akron Airways. She became an active member in the community involved in Gray Ladies of the Red Cross Mobile Meals Akron Women's City Club and Wagmong of Silver Lake. Elsie was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church and active with their Pro Life Group. Her most cherished moments were the one's she spent with her family. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Rudy in 1988. She is survived by her children Joseph (Shirley) Van Devere Chris (Kathleen) Van Devere Joanne Reich; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and sister Esther Knobf. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday December 18 2003 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Francis De Sales Church. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E.
