Elizabeth Carroll 'Katie' Wright passed away unexpectedly on December 5, 2016 at the age of 70. Katie was born in Akron OH and was one of three daughters by the late Anne Elizabeth Cole Snyder and Robert G. Cole and Stepfather Charles E. Snyder. Katie retired from the City of Akron as a Police, Fire and EMS dispatcher after over 20 years of service, and was affectionately known as 'Cookie' throughout the Akron Police Department. A two-time breast cancer survivor, Katie was an avid supporter of the American Cancer Society and cancer research. Katie is survived by her three daughters Jeannie (Lee) Huffman of Lisbon, OH; Shane (Anthony) Alonso of Cincinnati, OH; and Michelle (Dave) Garro of Akron, OH; grandson Bobby (Brook Faulk) Huffman of Lisbon, OH; granddaughter Tabitha (Gerrad) Leary of Ligonier, PA; grandson Joseph Garro; granddaughter Megan Garro; nephew Jeffrey F. Pajor of Berlin, CT; great-grandsons Jax Huffman and Quinton Leary and great-nephew Jaxon S. Pajor. She is also survived by sisters Lynne Roethel of Berlin, CT and Antoinette (John) Pajor of Berlin, CT and cousins Lila (Mogens Anderson) Towle of Lindum, Denmark; Anne (Robert Lohaus) Wright of Hartsdale, NY; and Nancy-Shantia (Jonathan) Wright-Gray of Ocean Park, ME. Katie is also survived by her many friends from the Akron Police and Fire Department, all of whom she loved working with and who were very special to her.
