Betty' passed away March 17 2011. She was a loving wife mother grandmother and great-grandmother. Many will remember her from 3100 at Akron General Medical Center where she was head nurse for many years. She was born May 29 1922 to Catherine and Frank Cunningham in Omaha NE. She was one of eight children. Betty married David D. Redle in 1945 after he returned from WW II settling in Akron in 1947. She was a member of St. Paul's Parish until 1966. The family moved to West Akron in 1966 and she has been a member of St. Sebastian Parish since then. She leaves behind her husband of 65 years David D. Redle; children Dave (Mary) Bernie Mary (Rich) Stockton Chris (Steve) Wendt Teresa (Dave) Brostowitz Ruth (Robert) McGough Steve (Kathy) Redle and Joe (Nicole) Redle; grandchildren Erin Katie and Meghan Redle; Martin Redle; Terry Bowin; Anna Davy Joey and Mariel Brostowitz; Matthew Peter and Joseph Wendt; Colleen and Joseph McGough; Michael Danny Julie Tommy Anne Marie and David Redle; Alex Peter John Ellie Maria and Joey Redle; and great-grandchildren Taylor Caitlin and Abigail. She was preceded in death by her daughter Jean Marie and grandchildren Mary Therese Redle and Mark Wendt. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday March 21 at 9:30 AM at St. Sebastian Catholic Church 476 Mull AV Akron. Interment in Holy Cross. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY 3475 Copley RD on Sunday March 20 from 4-8 PM. In memory of Betty and in honor of her dedication to her Catholic faith and to Catholic education donations may be made to the David and Elizabeth Redle Catholic Scholarship Fund 1101 11th AV Menominee MI 49858 or the St. Sebastian Parish Foundation. Betty's family would like to sincerely thank the dedicated staff at Pleasant View Health Care Center as well as Hospice of VNS for the loving care of their mother.
