Elizabeth (Betty) Nemeth 83 went home to be with the Lord with her family surrounding her on August 26 2004 after an eight month extended illness. She was born on May 5 1921 in Tatabanya Hungary and came to America through Ellis Island with her parents in September 1923. Elizabeth worked at Akron General Medical Center as a Nurses Aide and then as a Technician in the Endoscopy Room retiring in 1987. Elizabeth was a member of St. Mathew's Parish in Ellet. Her children were honored and privileged to have her as a Godly example of what it means to serve the Lord. She taught her children what the true meaning of love was and she gave of herself unconditionally to raise her children. Our hearts are heavy and those of us touched by her love will miss her deeply. One of her favorite scriptures was Isaiah 40:31 - ''They that hope in the Lord will renew their strength they will soar as with eagles' wings; They will run and not grow weary walk and not grow faint.'' Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Stephen and Lydia Imely; brothers Stephen and Joseph Imely and son Joseph. She is survived by her daughters Linda Nemeth (with whom she lived) Elizabeth Ann Nemeth of Akron Irene (Bob) King of Diamond Margaret (Kirk) Crowl of Hartville and sons John (Sharon) Nemeth of Tallmadge and Frank (Sue) Nemeth of Newport PA sister Irene (Bob) Marchoni of CA and brother William (Marty) Imely of TX. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to Dr. Gayleen Kolaczewski who helped us to have hope during this trying time. Mom really loved and appreciated her. Calling hours will be held on Sunday August 29 2004 from 5 to 8 PM at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday August 30 2004 at St. Mathew Parish 2603 Benton St. in Akron with Fr. Michael Williamson officiating. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. In liew of flowers donations may be made in Elizabeth's name to the American Diabetes Association or Catholic Charities.
