Elizabeth Hart

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Elizabeth Hart passed away peacefully at her home on July 8 2006. Elizabeth was born on February 11 1920 and was the oldest daughter of Patrick and Mary McAlonan. She attended St. Vincent Grade School and High School graduating in 1937. She went on to attend University of Akron graduating in 1941 with a degree in Sociology. She was a member of the Theta Phi Alpha Sorority and Mortar Board. Following graduation she became employed with Ohio Bell. Elizabeth married her late husband Jim on July 19 1945 while he was on temporary leave from the U.S. Army. She thereafter devoted her entire life to the well being of her husband and family. She was a life long member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Service League of Summit County Auxiliary. She took great joy in gardening and loved to serve dinner and play bridge with her friends. Her greatest pleasure however came from being with her children and grandchildren. Her quiet friendly and unassuming manner will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her oldest child Mary Beth and her husband of 55 years Jim Hart. She is survived by her daughter Ann (Jim) Panuska; son Pat (Linda) Hart; son Jim Hart; and son John (Gina) Hart; grandchildren Genevieve Kate and Matt Panuska Pat and Colleen Hart Lorraine Ellen and Marlene Hart and Jonathan Hart; and her sister Madge Leary. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday July 12 2006 9:30 AM at St. Vincent Church 164 W. Market St. Entombment in Rose Hill Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 PM Tuesday July 11 2006 at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St Akron. Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent Church or to St. Vincent's/St. Mary's Special Education Fund.
