Edna Segoine

September 10, 1919 — August 18, 2012

Edna Louise Segoine 92 left us on Saturday August 18 2012. She was the third daughter born to Hartley and Edna Parsons in Chardon. She graduated from CHS and Case Western Reserve. After graduation she was the food editor for the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Louise married Russell Allen Johnson Jr. on May 16 1942. Together they raised two children in Bowling Green. She volunteered for many organizations including The Red Cross in Washington D.C. during WWII Hospital Gray Ladies and later Meals on Wheels. In 1966 they retired to Naples FL where they enjoyed an active life with golfing dancing (they were known to clear the dance floor). She was secretary to the bowling league and a great 2nd mate in boating. She was a master crossword solver completing everyday puzzles in record time. After Russell's death in 1978 Louise married Richard Segoine in July 1980. Together they continued the love of boating until Richard's death in 1999. Louise remained independent into her late 80's. She returned home to Ohio where she lived in Medina for the remainder of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands; granddaughter Wendi Kern; sisters Jeanne Bostwick and Dorothy Knapp. Louise is survived by her two children: son Jay A. Johnson (Tammy) of Copley; daughter Jo Selby (Jerry) of Pangburn AR; sisters Ester Johnson and Priscilla Eldredge of Chardon; grandson Witney Johnson (Tracy); and 5 great-grandchildren of San Diego CA. 'Something Beautiful Remains the tide recedes but leaves seashells in the sand. The sun sets but gentle warmth still lingers on the land. The music stops and yet it echoes on in refrain. Something Beautiful Remains'. What remains is the fond memories of you mom. The family would like to thank the staff of Emeritus and Medina Hospice for their care of Louise. Cremation has taken place. Louise's family will place her in Naples Bay Naples Florida with her husbands.
