Dr. William Buhmair Brideweser, age 83, passed away on September 26, 2017. He was born on March 31, 1934 in Massillon, Ohio to the late Frederick and Evelyn Brideweser. He earned his undergraduate from Duke University and his medical degree from the Ohio State University. Bill was a pediatric anesthesiologist at Akron Children's Hospital. Following his retirement he worked for The Joint Commission (JCAHO), which accredits and certifies health care organizations in the United States. Bill was the President of Ohio Society of Anesthesiologists and Chief of the Medical Staff of Akron Children's Hospital. He was an elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church and honored graduate of Navarre High School for outstanding achievement. Bill enjoyed orchids, needlework, music, travel, his family and friends and his dogs. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Rose Nickles; son, Ernie (Mary Joan) Brideweser and their children, Margaret Ann, Fitzgerald, and Frederick; daughter, Mary Deloe (Christopher) and their children William and Andrew; daughter, Annie (Mark) Bargetz and their children Martin and Morgan; son, Bill (Ann) Brideweser and their children Will and Ben and daughter, Julie (Edward) Wingard and their children Isaac, Rachael, Abigail and Gabriel. Calling hours will be Friday 4-7 pm at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St. Akron, Ohio 44304. Memorial service will be 11:00am Satuday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1250 W. Exchange St. Akron, Ohio. Donations may be made to Akron Children's Hospital or Westminster Presbyterian Church Music Fund.
