Dorothy Gilbo

Dorothy Gilbo passed away July 28 2010 at The Village at St. Edward. She was born November 22 1921 in Akron Ohio. She was a member of St. Sebastian Church and retired from O'Neil's in downtown Akron after 40 years of service. She spent her retirement years taking care of her beloved sister Katie. Dottie will be deeply missed but her extraordinary humor and Irish spirit will remain with us. She was preceded in death by parents Leo and Helen Gilbo; brother Charles (Elnor) and sister Katie Gilbo all of Akron. She is survived by sister Mrs. Patricia Miller; nieces Mary Ann (Brian) Mortensen Pamela Moyer (Bill) Jennifer (Brett) Rihanek; nephews Ronald (Hequing) Metzner; Mike (Sandy) Gilbo and Stephanie (Gary) Prahst; and six great nieces/nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday August 2 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at The Village at St. Edwards 3131 Smith Rd. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 East Exchange Street Akron on Sunday August 1 2010 from 2-4 PM. Memorial donations may be made to St. Edward's Chapel Memorial Pieta Fund 3131 Smith Rd.
