Dorothy Duncan

Dorothy L. (Moon) Duncan, age 89, passed away on August 12, 2016. She was born on August 4, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA but graduated from Bath High School and spent the majority of her life in Sharon Center, OH. Besides raising her 4 girls and taking care of her husband, Joe, after his many 'adventures,' Dot was a Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, volunteer at Sharon Elementary and other community services. She was very accomplished at sewing, quilting, crocheting and wallpapering and her passions included, travel, gardening, Bingo and her family. Preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Joe, and her parents Dorothy Nist and Paul Moon, half-sister Donna and half-brother Ricky. She is survived by four daughters, Diane (Ken) Schiele, Karen (Steve) Kennedy, Ellen (Ken) Codding and Jo Anne (Mark) Larkman; sister Evelyn, half-brother Frank (Bud) and half-sister Gladys, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Graveside service to be held on August 19 at 11:15 A.M. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Any donations are requested to be made to either Hospice at HMC/Inpatient, 5075 Windfall Rd., Medina, Ohio 44256 - or the Sharon Elementary School Garden, 6335 Ridge Rd. P.O. Box 179 Sharon Center, Ohio 44274.
