Donna Embreus

Donna Lauretta Embreus, 97, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2023 after a brief illness.

Donna was born February 14,1926 in Logan, OH. She grew up in Ashland, OH where she met her husband. Music was a large part of her life. She could sight read music and play the piano and organ. She worked as an organist for many local churches. At one time she was a member of the Akron Symphony Chorus. She was an avid reader, always expanding her knowledge. She will be remembered and loved for her sharp mind and quick wit. One main joy in her life was when grandchildren came to visit.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Michael J Embreus, parents Theodore and Freda (Brown) Dillon, sister Norma Stenz and brother Roger Dillon. She is survived by brother David Dillon of North Olmsted, OH and sister Mary Sinnett of Sugarcreek, OH.

Donna leaves behind eight children: Sharon of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Richard (Mary) of Clarkdale, AZ, Melinda (Dan) Holcomb of Fritch, TX, Frederic of Akron, OH, Bernadette Dillon of Stow, OH, Maria Lowther of Copley, OH, Thomas (Wendy) of West Jordan, UT, and Anne of Cuyahoga Falls, OH.

She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Calling hours are January 6, 2024 from 9:00 am -10:00 am at Visitation of Mary Church located at 55 Broad St Akron OH 44305. Mass of the Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am with Father Dismas officiating. Internment will immediately follow the service at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
