Dominick Maimone

March 4, 1925 — April 4, 2017

Dominick B. Maimone, age 92, passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 4th, 2017. He was the son of Italian immigrants and grew up in New York City. He entered City College of New York at the age of 16 to pursue a degree in accounting and continued his studies at NYU. Dominick earned his CPA, eventually becoming the New York Managing Partner at J.K. Lasser & Company, which later merged with Touche Ross. His business acumen and leadership abilities were greatly admired throughout his life by all who knew him. In 1976, he moved his family to Akron where he continued his profession and became involved in several organizations benefitting the community, including the Ohio Ballet, the Italian American Businessman's Club, Akron Rotary Club and St. Anthony of Padua Parish. Dominick was an avid bridge player and attained Bronze Life Master Status. He was a member of Portage Country Club and the Sharon Golf Club. Preceded in death by his devoted wife of 67 years, Mary (Crish) and his son Daniel, he is survived by son Thomas (Joan), daughters Nancy Koly (David), Marie Hennessey (Thomas), grandchildren Kristen Blanks (James), Daniel (Brittany), Dominick, Christine, Matthew, Andrew and Kathryn, and great-grandson Dominick. The family will receive friends at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 East Exchange Street on Monday, April 10 from 5-8 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua, 83 Mosser Place, on Tuesday, April 11 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hennessey Children Fund for CF Research and sent to The Columbus Foundation, 1234 E Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43205.
