Dixie Absalom

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Dixie Absalom 74 passed away May 12 2005. She was preceded in death by parents Dolly and William Absalom. She is survived by her brother William (Phyllis) Absalom. Dixie resided at Evant's Dunbar Group Home with five other housemates: Marie Mary Beth Donna & Kathy all of whom love and will miss her very much. Dixie attended United Disability Services and although she was confined to a wheelchair Ms. Dixie enjoyed numerous community outings such as going out to eat going to the movies and especially attending social dances. She loved making crafts and listening to country music. Ms. Dixie was a very sweet kind and loving individual who touched everyone's hearts that she came in contact with. We will all cherish her memories and miss her very much. A special thank you to all the Evant and UDS staff who helped to make Dixie's life full. Also to the excellent direct care and nursing staff at Evant. Dixie appreciated and loved each and everyone of you! Her housemates said it best - 'Dixie is in Heaven walking and as 'our' time comes we will be there to walk with her.' A memorial service will be held Tuesday May 17 2005 at 1:00 pm at the Southeast Church of the Nazarene 771 Dunbar Road across from the home. A gathering will be held at the Dunbar Home immediately following the service.
