Diane Dann

April 19, 1956 — July 17, 2018

Don't cry for me Akron. I have gone to the love light and peace of everlasting learning that is my reward. Also, no stray animal ever came in to my yard without finding a loving, safe home, so I plan on working for St. Francis of Assisi, remembered as the patron saint of animals. Thank you to my parents Ted & Gert Dann for instilling a love of learning, teaching and travel. They gave me the confidence and resilience to keep moving forward with optimism. I was blessed to have my brother Ted as my best friend from an early age and continuing throughout my life. To my friends, family and children Dann & Adrienne Ashcraft, I pass on two pieces of wisdom: 'When people tell you who they are, believe them!'-Maya Angelou and 'Know when to walk away and live YOUR own best life. Seek your own happiness.'-D.D. To honor my 'eternal memory', float about in a boat, find the beauty both great and small all around you and be aware of the God Winks that occur everyday. Diane was born April 19, 1956 and died July 17, 2018, less than 12 hours from the anniversary of her father's death on July 18th, 1982. The family takes great comfort at this time knowing that they are together in Heaven. Diane was a 1974 graduate of Kenmore High School and Akron University in 1978. She spent her career teaching Business Education, initially at Portage Lakes JV and then Copley High School for 30+ years. Cremation has taken place. A mass will be held on Tuesday, July 24th at 9:30a at St. Hilary Catholic Church followed by a reception for friends and relatives of the family at the Winery at Wolf Creek 11a-1p.
