Diana Lucia

Diana C. Lucia died peacefully January 30, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born in Surrey, England and came to the United States in 1968. She lived all over the world until she met her husband Angelo Lucia in Morocco where they married. She then moved to the USA and settled in Akron, Ohio. Diana was very involved in the Akron community her whole life. She worked part time for many years at TransOhio Bank (US Bank), The Paper Mill, and The Hilton all while raising her family. She had been a member of the Christ Child Society of Akron since 1979. Serving as Vice President and Treasurer, heading up many committees and spending countless hours managing the Christmas Boutique which was her crowning accomplishment. She was a constant presence at St Sebastian's Church in Akron, always lending a hand in the church office and delivering communion to anyone who needed it. She enjoyed the lasting friendships she made over the years through the many activities and organizations she was part of, such as Gourmet Groups, Bridge Flights, her "club" gatherings, movie nights, kids sporting events and the countless hours designing craft projects for the Christmas Boutique.

She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Joyce and her loving husband Angelo. She is survived by her 3 children; Christopher (Kerry) Lucia of Powell, Ohio, Catherine (Daniel) Hawk of Medina, Ohio and Peter Lucia of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren, Edward Lucia, Daniel Lucia, Emily (Octavio) Valdez, Annie Bridget Lucia and Rachel Hawk; her sister Frances (Ian) Brill of Harrogate, England; and her niece Christine (Andrew) Derajtys of Columbia, SC.

The family would like to thank the friends and family who have reached out and visited Diana over the years. Last but in no way least thank you to the amazing staff at The Village Of St. Edwards in Fairlawn, especially the care group in the Memory Care wing who supported Cathy and Peter. Your smiles and attention to Diana over the years helped the family more than you'll ever know.

Calling hours will be 10-11:30am Saturday, February 3, 2024 at St. Sebastian Parish, 476 Mull Ave, Akron, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
