Dennis Neil Emerson, 72, went home to be with the Lord on August 6, 2014 while surrounded by family at home. A lifelong resident of Copley, Denny loved his hometown and stayed active in his community. He also attended the Grace Brethren Church of Norton. Denny worked at Goodyear for 35 years, served on the Copley Fire Department, drove school bus for Copley schools, spent some time as an Ohio State Patrol dispatcher and ran Denny's Keys locksmith out of his home for years. He loved his work and loved being a provider for his family. He was also a founding member of the Copley Lion's Club. Denny's favorite pastime was sitting around the campfire with friends and family sharing jokes and spinning tales. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Sylvia, brother, Chester, and son, Wayne. Denny is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ruth, his daughters, Kelly Emerson and Tami (Mike) Staab, his sons, Jamie (Cindy) Emerson, Tim Emerson, and Mike (Mandy) Emerson as well as 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be held at the Grace Church of Norton, 3970 S Cleve-Mass Rd, on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Friends and family may call at the church one hour before the service begins. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Summa Hospice Service or Grace Church Norton Campus.
