On June 5th, Delilah Kirkland passed away after many years suffering from Alzheimer's Disease at her son and daughter-in-law's home, Roger and Beth, who lovingly took care of her for the past two and half years after she was unable to care for herself. She was 92 years old. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil. They celebrated 61 years of marriage together. They raised their family and lived in the Cuyahoga Falls area for the majority of their marriage. Now their residence is in heaven. Two people who walked together with their strong belief in the Lord.
Delilah worked many jobs, but for the majority of her life was chiefly a homemaker. She was an incredibly smart and gifted woman who enjoyed many hobbies including baking, sewing, painting, playing piano, singing, knitting, and a multitude of other crafts. She and Cecil taught Sunday school at the Baptist Temple for many years together. She was always busy doing something. She spoiled her children and extended family with many meals and special sweets made especially for them because she knew it was "their favorite." She celebrated the holidays and birthdays with gifts that included special items that she had made herself; blankets, pillows, ties, baby clothes, jackets, stuffed animals, etc. It was always a surprise and amazement when you opened your package; sewn and made with much love and prayers for the person who would receive it.
She is survived by her sons Dave (Sue), Tom (Sharen), and Roger (Beth), grandchildren Jessie and Delilah (granddaughters), (grandsons) Eric, Jamie, Steven, Brad, Cory, and Tyler, and 15 great grandchildren. We will always miss her.
In lieu of flowers, please instead take time to be with someone you love or is lonesome. We all know how fleeting life is, but time spent with another is priceless.
Matthew 11:28-30
Come to Me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
