Davie Stewart

Davie Lee Stewart, age 82, passed away on February 24, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 10, 1933 in Barberton to the late Joe and Evelyn. He grew up in Windham, Ohio and served our country in the US Army during the Korean War. Davie worked in construction all of his life. Preceded in death by his son. Duane; siblings, Ronald, Jeanine Warren, Clarence 'Sonny' and Dennis; he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret 'Peggy'; children, Diana, Dawn (Jeff) Grubich, Darrell and Shawn (Adkins) Stewart; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and his faithful companion, Riley. Calling hours will be Monday 5-8 pm at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St. Akron, Ohio 44304. Funeral service will be 12:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home, interment to follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
