David Sanders

David E. Sanders, age 73, passed away at home on April 25, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 26, 1943 in Hutchinson, Kansas to the late Leo and Pauline (Alumbaugh, Gisel) Sanders. David was a 1961 graduate of Nickerson High School and attended Wichita State University. He was employed by BF Goodrich, which brought him to Akron in 1968. David married the love of his life, Mary Ann Hollingshead in 1969. He enjoyed his bridge club, reading, gardening, cooking, and riding his tractor, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed, but his boisterous laugh will never be forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Leo Harold Sanders Jr.; and his newly found grandson, CJ Novak (Cymbor). He is survived by his wife Mary Ann; children, Michael D. Sanders and Mary Elizabeth (Tim) Hoolihan; grandchildren, Madeline and Nicholas Sanders and Mary Kate, Anna and Hayley Hoolihan; sister Diane 'Ane' (Fred) Dugger; brother, Steven (Tami) Sanders and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his newly found family; daughter, Susan Cymbor; granddaughter, Candice (Nick) Pinion and great grandson, Mason Pinion. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Bath Church, 3980 W. Bath Rd. Akron, Ohio 44333. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's name to the Biliary System and Liver Cancer Research Fund at The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute or to the Bath Church Memorial Fund.
