David Hawkins

David Allen Hawkins 53 of Peninsula (formerly of Copley) passed away peacefully at home Sept. 19th 2011 after a brave 5 year battle with brain cancer. He was born Oct. 30 1957 to the late Wanda (Simmers) and Bruce Hawkins Sr. David was a talented mechanic who loved to work on anything with an internal combustion engine (the bigger the better) especially his John Deere and his '66 yellow Mustang. He is survived by his much loved daughters Angela (Ryan) Mautz and Jennifer (David) Barber; adorable grandson Lucas Barber; friend & brother Bruce Jr.; adoring sisters Linda (Jerry) Fisher and Karen (Chris) Henry; many loving nieces nephews cousins aunts and uncles; and his beloved Lynn. David will also be sadly missed by many close friends including gearheads hot rod enthusiasts and fellow AA members. Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM Thursday Sept. 22 2011 at Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY 3475 Copley Rd. Interment will take place in Copley Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday Sept. 21 at the funeral home from 4-7 PM.
