David A. Frye, devoted husband, passed away on June 23, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was very courageous in living a beautiful life with cancer. He was born in Akron, Ohio to Mary and Carroll 'Bud' Frye. He attended St. Paul Catholic grade school, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, where he made life-long friendships that he treasured. Graduating from The University of Akron with a degree in Mass Media Communications, David worked almost 40 years in radio, broadcast news, cable, video production and corporate communications. After graduation he became a news videographer/editor for WKYC-TV and WAKR-TV. In the early 1980's he was Program Manager for Time Warner Cable, opening up their Wadsworth Access Studio. For sixteen years he owned and operated his own video production company, Fryeday Productions. In 1989 he met the love of his life, Mary Anne, who also shared his love and passion for the creative arts. In 2002 they closed their business and moved to sunny Florida where he became a Producer and Director for PBC-TV Channel 20, and later working as a Cable TV manager and Senior Public Relations Specialist for Palm Beach County. For fun, David was a freelance music reviewer for The Palm Beach Daily News (Shiny Sheet), meeting many celebrities and talented musicians. David was born with the gift for writing, creating and singing original songs, as well as playing guitar, keyboard and drums. He wrote songs for many volunteer organizations, such as the opening ceremonies for The Inventor's Hall of Fame, The Harness Race Rally, The Akron Aeros, and helped to record, produce, and engineer the CD 'Hope in the Night' with the Peace Together Choir in support of hospice. He was also a cantor at St. Sebastian Church for many years, a seven year choir member and later an usher at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Palm Beach. David was a life-long fan of 'The Beatles,' making a bucket list trip to London and Liverpool for John Lennon's 75th Birthday, where he fulfilled his dream of a recording session at Abbey Rd. Studios and singing at The Cavern Club. Throughout his life David wrote many original songs that celebrated the events in his life. In 2013 he created his own CD, 'A Life in a Day,' sharing his positive outlook and compassion for life. David had the most wonderful sense of humor. He always had a joke to tell. He could answer any trivia question. His smile lit up a room, and most importantly, he was the kindest and most loving person you would ever meet. He was our angel.
