David Carmany

David C. Carmany, age 79, passed away on March 8, 2023. He was born on March 4, 1944 to Charles and Ilene(Smith) Carmany.

David graduated Norton High School in 1962, where he enjoyed playing sports and driving cars. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. He resided in Akron most of his life and spent several years in Mobile, AL. David retired as a supervisor from Babcock & Wilcox in Barberton after 26 years of dedicated service.

Supportive Dad of Traci (Kevin) Hagen of Akron; proud Papa to granddaughter, Paiton; "Big" little brother to James (Nancy) Carmany of Laguna Beach, CA; Uncle to Tawnya Smothermon; and great Uncle to Amanda and Chad. He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Jimmy Carmany.

Besides the love for his family, he found joy in coaching, animals, nature, music, and traveling. David had a terrific sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life for David is scheduled for Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 2:00pm located at the Akron Fire Fighters Local 330, 161 Massillon Rd., Akron, OH 44312
