Daniel B. Panella went home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2024.
Born in Akron, Ohio on February 8, 1936. He graduated from North High School in 1954 and attended the University of Akron before becoming employed at Babcock and Wilcox Co. where he began a long career in computer work as a programmer. Later at General Tire and Rubber Company he was Manager of Computer Operations Tire Development. And finally retired from Norton Company in 1990 as Manager of Data Processing.
Dan was most happy when he was with his family. He was a great fan of golf and had many wonderful friends. Preceded in death by his father Anthony J. Panella and mother Jean R. Panella (DeOrio), he is survived by wife Nancye, son Anthony J. Panella (Jan), daughter Deborah L. (John) Dvorak, brother Christopher Panella (Rainie), Stepson Alan Jackson, Stepson Kip (Jennifer) Jackson and Renee (Paul) Anderson, stepdaughter Mona (Mike) Crooks, grandchildren: Danny Panella and Erika (Panella) Koeth; Ali McCue, Tom and Ben Dvorak and Maria (Dvorak) Scroggins; Daken and Haley Anderson; Sabrina, Sophia and Isabella Jackson; Buddy, Danny, and Missy Moore. Great grandchildren: Riley, Savannah, Addisyn and Kayden Panella; Carli and Madilyn Koeth; Henry and Jack McCue; Otis and Lenora Dvorak and Owen and Theodore Dvorak. Many cousins and friends.
The family sincerely thanks the team from Summa Hospice for their devotion and care, in particular GINA, JEREMY and TERRY.
The family will have visitation from 2:30pm to 3:30pm Friday, November 15, followed by a short celebration of life at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 East Exchange Street, Akron OH.
