Daniel Keith Bishop died unexpectedly and went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2018. He was born on April 7th, 1978 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Dan grew up near Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Westland High School and was active in the ROTC program. After high school he served as an electronics technician in the Navy from September of 1996 to October of 1999. He began this journey at the Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, Connecticut and finished in Norfolk, Virginia. Dan was very good at drawing and really enjoyed watching his favorite artist Bob Ross. Anyone that knew him was keenly aware of his dry not-always subtle sarcastic sense of humor. He loved to laugh and crack a joke with his friends and family. Dan suffered and struggled with addiction and its effects for a long time. This terrible disease took his life and strained relationships with his family and friends. Addiction deprived us all from experiencing a long and genuine relationship with Dan. His family prays that his battle with this illness will help others who are struggling to seek help to overcome. While in treatment Dan recommitted his life to Jesus Christ and enjoyed learning and talking about his Savior. He is survived by his son Christian Bishop of Killeen, Texas, uncle Darwin (Debbie) Friend of Ravenna, Ohio, cousin Krystal (Tim and Carly) Brandt of Rosenberg, Texas, numerous other cousins in Ohio, longtime friend Richard Frame of Norton, Ohio and many other friends in the Akron, Ohio area. Dan was preceded in death by his mother Darlene Friend Bishop of Kent, Ohio, grandparents Leanna and Darwin Friend of Rootstown, Ohio and his aunt Marilyn Friend of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
