Dale Cole

Dale A. Cole 75 of Copley died October 1 2009 after a 10-month battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou (Smith) Cole and is survived by his sister Juanita (Robert) Downs of Barberton brother Donald (Monika) Cole of Germany son Christopher (Pratt Austin-Trucks) Cole of Birmingham Alabama and daughter Amy (David) Wong of Akron. He was also a loving 'FaFa' to Jessica Alex and Nicholas and a loving 'Grandfather Cole' to Turner and Smith. He was a member of the Copley Chapter of the American Legion was an avid golfer and reader and enjoyed cooking - especially making bread. You could often find him on the sidelines of his grandchildren's sporting events or asleep in his favorite chair. He will be greatly missed by family his golf buddies longtime neighbors and many friends. The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the staff at Copley Health Center for their loving and compassionate care of our dad and our families. Calling hours will be Tuesday October 6 2009 from 4-7 p.m. at Hummel Funeral Home 3475 Copley Rd in COPLEY. Graveside services will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman on Wednesday October 7 2009 at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to WKSU radio the Barberton Public Library c/o The Barberton Community Foundation or the Norton Branch of the Akron Summit County Library.
