Cyrus Stair

Cyrus Joseph Stair, 91 of Barberton, passed away October 25, 2015 at The Village at St. Edward. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII and was a member of American Legion Post 473 and VFW Post 7971. Joe was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church and former church council member. He was a past Grand Knight of Council 1617. He was also a past President of Copley Kiwanis. He retired from Ohio Edison Co. after a 38 yr career in engineering and was a member of the Edison Men's Club. Joe enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling, painting and spending time with all his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Betty and Dorothy and brothers Walter, Theodore, James, Robert and Richard. He will missed by his wife Catherine, daughters Linda (Frank) Kaiser and Janet (Keith) Kepes and son Joseph (Lita) Stair; grandchildren Christine Brown, Jennifer Henshaw, Mark Gorog, Michael Stair, Jeffrey Stair, Ellen Stair, Heather Phillips, Lindsey Wilkinson, Rachel Rice, and Ryan Kepes and many great-grandchildren, family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 11 am at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1676 S. Cleveland-Massillon Road, Copley 44321. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Road, Wednesday from 4-7 pm. Interment in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Barberton Pregnancy Center.
