Clifford H. Combs Jr. born October 27, 1938 passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 after a two year illness. He is survived by his wife Carole, the love of his life for 60 years; his two sons and their families, Cliff {Debbie} Melissa and Scott; Eric (Betsy) Christian, Jeff (Christina), Kristin (Scott) Strayer and their daughter Callie. He was extremely devoted to his wife Carole. It was the simple things in life that made them happy. A night out together was more than enough for them. Cliff graduated from Buchtel High School and attended the University of Akron. He was a top salesman for the Brown Graves Lumber Company for over 55 years. He made many contacts over the years, and was well liked and respected by all. He had a passion for sports his entire life. He excelled on the baseball field during his high school years and was an avid golfer. He loved attending games with his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and spent many hours on the baseball fields with his grandsons, Scott and Jeff. He was very involved in youth baseball, coaching in the Jackson Twp Baseball Assoc. for many years. He had a way with the players that instilled confidence and brought the best out of all of them. He taught them not only baseball, he taught them life lessons. The most important thing is that Cliff was just a good person who lived his life the right way. He always did the right thing and set the right example. His family could not have asked for more.
