Clare Glaser

November 12, 1934 — May 28, 2009

Clare Gemrich Glaser 74 passed away on May 28 2009 following a 16 month battle with colon cancer. Born and raised in Kalamazoo MI Clare graduated from Monmouth College in Monmouth IL. She moved to Akron in 1958 shortly after her marriage to Donald L. Glaser. Clare was a friend to everyone and was active in many groups throughout her life including WITAN the Women's Board of Children's Hospital of Akron the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority Tau Pi and New Hope Presbyterian Church. She was a former member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and Elder. Her life was dedicated to enriching the potential of children with hearing loss. She was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Lee Gemrich sister Joan and brother Eddie. Clare is survived by her husband of 52 years Donald; her son D. Louis (Rachel) of Chicago; her daughters Joan (Bill) Hewitt of Encinitas CA and Elaine (Jason) Morse of Westford VT; and her grandchildren Lee and Brent Hewitt Ella and Marlowe Glaser Rachel and Robbie Morse; and her brother Alfred. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday June 2 2009 at New Covenant Community Church 2095 West Market Street Akron OH 44313 Dr. Griffith officiating.
