Civita Noethen

August 3, 1925 — November 14, 2005

Civita Tuccillo Noethen passed away on November 14 2005. Civita was born on August 3 1925 in Minturno Italy and came to the United States with her family in 1937 settling in the Akron area. Civita was active in many organizations within the community. She was a member of St. Vincent Church the International Institute Sons of Italy Civil War Roundtable World War II and Korean Roundtable Christ Child Society St. Vincent Altar Society and The Ohio State University Parents Association. She also worked throughout the years at the M. O'Neil Company the Akron Public Schools and as a legal secretary. Civita's love passion and commitment were to her family. She enjoyed preparing and sharing meals with the many people who were welcomed in her home. Civita loved meeting with her high school group still going strong after sixty years attending Ohio State football games gardening and dinners with her brothers cousins and friends. Civita's family and friends loved her for her kind ways and her gentle nature. She never spoke an unkind word and was a woman of grace and elegance who will be deeply missed by so many. Preceding Civita in death were her parents Salvatore and Marta Tuccillo her dear sister Mary Triola and beloved sister-in-law Alex Noethen. Civita was the devoted wife of Henry Noethen whom she married on May 12 1951. She is survived by her husband and their children John (Meg) of Fairlawn David of Akron Mark of Chicago and Diane (Peter) Kalgreen of Akron. She also leaves her precious granddaughters Elisa and Erika Rowland and Michelle and Emma Noethen as well as her step grandchildren Kristen (Troy) Kyle their beautiful daughter Ella and Jeremy and Patrick Kalgreen. Civita is also survived by her dear brothers and their wives Anthony (Sandy) Tuccillo and John (Marie) Tuccillo her brothers-in-law Lawrence Triola and Ray Noethen and their families as well as many cousins nieces and nephews. She loved each family very much. Civita's family would like to thank the caring staffs at The Ledges at Rockynol and Hospice at Ridgewood Rd. who helped her during the past several months. Special thanks to the doctors who cared for her particularly Dr. Marta Roth and Dr. Douglas Trochelman. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday November 17 2005 at 9:30 am at St. Vincent Catholic Church 164 W. Market St. Akron OH 44303. Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. on Wednesday from 4-7 pm. Members of the Sons of Italy #685 will conduct a service at 6:45 pm. Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent Catholic Church.
