Cheryl A. Williamson 62 passed away peacefully on August 11 2013 in the company of her beloved family. Born February 28 1951 in Akron to Joan and Bill Williamson Cheryl was a wonderful mother grandmother adored instructor and lifelong learner. She graduated from Garfield High School and received both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Akron. Cheryl went on to teach English Composition and Argument at the University where she was a favorite among her students. Most of all Cheryl's passion was motherhood. She was never shy to express her pride in her children and was so grateful to see them become successful adults and parents. Her grandchildren will miss the important role she played in all of their lives. She made great efforts to improve the lives of others most recently as a counselor and instructor for recovering addicts at the Interval Brotherhood Home. Her loyalty strength positive attitude intelligence and beauty both inside and out will be missed. She is survived by her closest friend William Dennis Shaul; daughters Shelby (Addam) Drenner and Meredith Shaul; sons Jason (Melissa) Samulak and Max Shaul; grandchildren Jacob Sarah Maddy and Jack; her brother Rick; her cat Big Girl; and many others whose lives she touched. Funeral service will be 6:30 p.m. Friday August 16 at the Hummel Funeral Home Akron Chapel (500 E. Exchange St.) where friends may call from 5 until service time.
