Charles VonGunten

Charles (Chick) R. VonGunten, 91, passed away Sunday September 4, 2016. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace with over 40 years of service. Charles was a veteran of the Army serving in WWII as a proud member Merrill's Marauders. Charles received a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. He was a 32nd degree Mason with the Wadsworth Lodge. Charles was a life member of Mt. Zwingli United Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by daughter Kim Health. Charles is survived by his beloved bride of 66 years, Pauline; son Mark (Dorothy); granddaughter Sarah Ann VonGunten; son-in-law Jim Heath; sister Faye Hill and many other family members. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 pm at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd., Copley. Funeral services will be held Saturday 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Zwingli United Church of Christ, 2172 S. Medina Line Rd., Wadsworth, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Interment Mt. Zwingli Cemetery.
