Charles Taylor

January 19, 1951 — October 20, 2024

Charles (Charlie) Lester Taylor IV, a vibrant soul aged 73, peacefully left this world on October 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home. Born on January 19, 1951, in the city of Chicago, Illinois, Charlie was a beloved figure in the Hudson community and a treasured friend on Paradise Island, Bahamas.

In his early years, Charlie embarked on a journey in Journalism at The Ohio State University. However, driven by a passion for creation, he taught himself construction through library literature and hands-on experience. He began his entrepreneurial path with Sundry Services, diligently working on sidewalks and driveways before transforming the company into the thriving C.T. Taylor Construction Company, which continues to flourish today.

An avid traveller, Charlie adored the picturesque shores of Nantucket and the sun-soaked beaches of the Bahamas, where he found a second home. His ability to engage in conversation with anyone he met was truly remarkable. He had a zest for life that encompassed a love for music, dancing, golfing, and boating.

Charlie is survived by his devoted wife Shelley Taylor, and his cherished children: Anne Taylor (Ryan Doran), Abby Taylor (Kilder Cavalcante), and Alex (Monique) Haley. His legacy lives on through his beloved grandchildren: Sofia, Anabella, Mila Taylor-Cavalcante, and Mia & Evan Haley. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Lynda (Mike) Grimm, Linda (Mike) Ryan, and Nancy Taylor, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who held him dear.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Taylor III and Sidney Stronge, and his sister, Judy Taylor.

Charlie's infectious energy, boundless generosity, signature pink hat, and quick wit made him a beacon of light in the lives of many. His memory will be forever cherished, and his radiant smile will remain etched in our hearts.

Interment will take place at Markillie Cemetery in Hudson, Ohio, at 10 AM on Friday, November 1st. A celebration of life will follow at Lake Forest Country Club from 11:00 AM to 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

No words can adequately express the void left by Charlie's passing. However, the beautiful memories we created together will always be treasured. The indelible footprint he left on this world is one to be admired, and he will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
