Charles Gregory

Charles Gregory, 82, of Akron, Ohio passed away on June 22, 2021.
Ed was born and raised in Patton, PA in 1938. Shortly after high school graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps and married the love of his life Janet. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina and served his country for four years. After an honorable discharge he and his wife moved to Akron, where he worked for General Tire. After retiring he went on to work at Hoban High School as a full time custodian until 2000 when he completely retired. Ed volunteered many hours with the Ellet Baseball Association coaching and teaching his children his love of sports. Anyone that knew him, knew he was a die hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, never missing a game.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife Janet in 2001. He is survived by his 4 children; Edward Gregory, Cheryl (John) Tenney, Barbara (Jeff) Komjati, Rick (Janessa) Gregory; grandchildren, Tina, James (Melissa), Heather (Nadif), Daniel, Michelle, Jennifer (Joe), Ashley, Kyle and John; and several great grandchildren. He also leaves his sister Carol Weaver; as well as Mary Lou Krieg, who provided him with a second chance at love over these past years; many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 26, 2021, 1:00 pm at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St., Akron, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
