Charles Bowyer

Charles M. Bowyer, age 57, passed away on July 31, 2023. He was born in Akron, Ohio to Jack and Colleen Bowyer.

Along with his parents: John and Colleen, Chuck was preceded in death by his aunts and uncles: Marjorie, Donald, Evelyn, Robert, Jerry.

Chuck is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and China Bowyer, his niece, Samantha Bowyer, and her children, Eliza and Ezra; as well his cousins, Jack and Marti Herrmann and their children, Doug and Stacie and their families.

As a youth, Chuck was a DeMolay and was awarded the Honor of Chevalier. He later become a Mason at Meridian Sun Lodge #69. He was a member for over 30 years. During college Chuck joined Pershing Rifles, a military oriented honor society. He was a history enthusiast throughout his whole life with a particular interest in WWII. He collected legacy WWI and WWII military rifles. Chuck also explored and embraced his Native American heritage by attending festivals. He enjoyed learning about and collecting Native American art and jewelry. Chuck was an avid movie buff, including movies from the Golden age to modern anime. Perhaps his favorite past time was a telling good story along with a cigar.

Chuck earned a Bachelor's of Business Management and his primary occupation was with Oriana House, dedicated to helping people triumph over addictions and mental illness. Here, he performed many roles and was fondly known as the "Warehouse Guy".

Late in life, Chuck honored his parents by caring for them full time, while they were suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's Association became an organization close to his heart. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer Association: act.alz.org.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 2 to 4 PM at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Road, Copley. A funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
