Charlene Gallagher

Charlene L. Gallagher (Rose), age 88, passed away on December 9, 2024. She was born in Guernsey County, Oh and graduated from Old Washington High School in 1954. After high school, she moved to Akron and met the love of her life, Francis (Frank) Gallagher. They were married Feb. 15, 1958. They were blessed with three children and two grandchildren. She was an employee of Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., and after taking time to raise her family, was an employee of the Summit County Health District. Charlene was an exceptional cook and loved to bake, especially for the holidays, and enjoyed sewing, word games, and bowling. She loved being involved with her children and later grandchildren's activities: going to band practices, any sports games, or bowling leagues. She enjoyed her retirement and loved to watch college sports and was an avid Browns and Guardians fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her parents, Charles and Leanna (West) Rose, her brother, Jack Rose, and sister Patsy (Bill) Johnson. She is survived by her son, Mark Gallagher, daughters, Linda (Jerry) Geist and Cheryl (Keith) Pomeraning, her grandchildren, Meghan Geist and Evan Pomeraning, and sister, Janice Agler.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Friday, December 13th, 2024, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 44 University Ave Akron, Ohio 44308, where calling hours will be one hour prior to mass. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of floral memorials, please donate to the charity of your choice.
