Catherine Coffman

Catherine Anna Coffman 84 passed away Friday April 17 2009 surrounded by her family. She was born December 5 1924 in Akron and lived in the Akron and Ellet area most of her life. She was a parishioner at St. Matthew Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband David of 53 years; son David (Laura) Coffman; daughters Dolores Warnick Nancy (Dennis) Smith Janice (Mark) Fryman Carolyn (Steve) Payerle Diana Riley Cathi (Scott) Householder; sister Elsie (Paul) Shaffer; brother Bob (Jenny) Schaber; sisters-in-law Ruth Schaber and Anna Schaber. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Throughout the years Catherine worked at Firestone Saalfield Acme and the Roll-A-Way Bowling Alley. She enjoyed playing piano listening to her birds sing bowling with her many friends at Roll-A-Way and AMF and spending time with her family. Catherine was devoted to her family and faith. She gave selflessly to her family and everyone she met. She had the patience of a saint and a wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Thank you for everything mom we love you and will miss you. Mass of Christian Burial Monday April 20 2009 10:00 AM at St. Matthew Catholic Church 2603 Benton Street. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron on Sunday April 19 from 3-5 PM.
