Catherine Bond

December 18, 1920 — November 18, 2003

Catherine Bond 82 died peacefully November 18 2003. Daughter of Hungarian immigrants Michael and Rose Wolf she was raised in Akron. She graduated from East High and the University of Akron. She taught kindergarten in Tallmadge and Mogadore. She later taught home economics at several Akron schools ending her career at Ellet High. She was a Martha Holden Jennings Scholar. A wonderful cook Catherine loved having her family and friends in her home. She was caring and interested in everyone she met. An independent thinker she was active in the Tallmadge League of Women Voters. She was happily married for 61 years to Earl W. Bond who survives her. Preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Rose Landes and Betty Fifer she is survived by her son Lawrence W. (Marsha) Bond daughter Jane Bond son-in law James L. Wagner; grandchildren Jill Cabe Julie (Eric) Rummel Douglas (Angelina) Bond and Amy Bond; brother and sister-in-laws William and Ruth Bond; several nieces and nephews. The family expresses deep appreciation to the staff of Hospice at Ridgewood for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Carrell Center at Rockynol Retirement Center 1150 W. Market Street. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Rockynol Life Care Fund 1150 W. Market Street Akron Ohio 44313.
