Carole Shannon

Carole Sue Shannon, 76, of Kent, OH passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 24, 1942 in Akron, OH, and attended Cuyahoga Falls High School. Carole married Joseph W. Shannon on September 10, 1960 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Carole devoted her life to raising and caring for her family. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them and hearing about their many interests and activities. She enjoyed being surrounded by the natural beauty and wildlife at the family home in Twin Lakes. Carole took pleasure visiting their beachside home in Longboat Key, FL, where the families have made many fond memories. She was an avid reader and loved watching Hallmark movies. Her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, warm hugs and her generous heart will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Joseph Shannon, Kent; five children, Mark (Debbie) Shannon, Kent, John (Jessica) Shannon, Kent, Christine (Charles) Rainey, Carmel, IN, Joseph (Laura) Shannon, Kent, Carolyn Shannon, Kent; grandchildren, Zachary, Clay & Jaret Shannon, Hannah, Jared & Ian Burkey, Zoe & Raphael Rainey, Courtney, Nicholas & Michael Shannon, Ava, Lane & William Shannon; brother, Randy (Tanya) Ballard, sister-in-law, Darlene Ballard; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Joseph and Margaret Ballard; brother, Ronald Ballard and sister, Eloise Holland-Kenimond. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 15th, 2018, from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 313 N. Depeyster Street, Kent, 44240. Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Kent Free Library, 312 W.
