Carol Ann King, 55, of Akron, Ohio, passed away suddenly on July 30, 2020 in her home. Carol, better known as Nana, is survived by her significant other of 30+ years, Denny Scott; her brother Ed (Deborah) Gilbert of Morgantown WV; her children, Tiffani (Derrick) Athey of Akron Ohio, Rachel (Kristen) Lockhart, of Akron, Ohio; Derrik (Angie) Scott of Murfreesboro, TN; and her beloved grandchildren, Kayli, Kolten Kaci and Trenton. She is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Mary and her three brothers Mitchell, Jeff and Jonathan. Carol was born in Canton, Ohio on January 28, 1965 and attended Canton McKinley High School. She later went on to graduate from The Gerber Akron Beauty College. Carol was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved all that was black and gold. Her love for animals, of any kind, was known to all that surrounded her. There was not an animal she would not take in. Her love for her grandchildren superseded anything you have ever seen. She adored being "Nana" and there was not anything she would not do for her grandbabies. Carol will be loved and missed by all that knew her. At Carol's request, cremation will take place and a small memorial with her children and grandchildren will be held privately. No services will be held. We thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.
